I have been eating food for 40+ years. Guess I am an expert, right? Well maybe not. What does qualify me as someone who knows a little something about food, is the fact that I have owned/managed food establishments on 2 continents over the last 18 years.
My passion for food started when I moved to Germany in the early 90’s and realized there was, more out there then just McDonalds and KFC. I learned quickly that cooking something edible is not really hard, the difficult part was to create something that people can’t stop eating and talking about. I put all my new-found knowledge to the test in 1996 when I opened my first deli. Making a total of $600 my first week of sales was a very humbling experience. I kept on, and in 3 years, I had my first million dollar store.
In 2004 I packed up shop and moved back to my hometown of Tampa, Florida. I had big plans of duplicating the success I had in Europe, but unfortunately the economy started taking a turn for the worse. Nonetheless, I stayed in the business, and now I have the opportunity to pass my knowledge of running a restaurant to others. I currently am a training manager for a large quick service restaurant by day, and after work I experiment with new recipes that I will be using in the very near future.
I am excited about the future, big things on the horizon!!
